North Carolina’s Ethically Challenged Ethics Commission

Theresa Kuhn liked this post

Ethics, according to the Merriam Webster dictionary, has the following meaning:

rules of behavior based on ideas about what is morally good and bad.

Its secondary definition is this:

ethics : an area of study that deals with ideas about what is good and bad behavior : a branch of philosophy dealing with what is morally right or wrong.

I include these definitions of ethics because, and I suppose we should not be surprised by this at all, some branches of government have no clue about ethics or “what is morally right or wrong”.

Take the North Carolina Ethics Commission… these buffoons issued an “opinion” that literally turns the definition of ethics upside down.

In response to a request from Joal H. Broun, the Lobbying Compliance Director for the Department of the Secretary of State Lobbying Compliance Division, the North Carolina State Ethics Commission responded with the following:

You have asked whether consensual “sexual favors or sexual acts” between a lobbyist and a designated individual constitute a gift or “thing of value” that would trigger the gift ban and reporting requirements of the Lobbying Law and whether those activities would fall within the definition of “goodwill lobbying” and trigger the Lobbying Law’s registration obligation.

This opinion was adopted by the State Ethics Commission at its February 13, 2015, meeting.

Section 120C-303(a)(1) of the Lobbying Law restricts a registered lobbyist from giving a gift to a designated individual unless a gift ban exception applies. “Gift” is defined as “[a]nything of monetary value given or received without valuable consideration….” G.S. 138A-3(15).

A lobbyist must report certain “reportable expenditures,” defined to include gifts and “things of value” greater than $10 per day given to a designated individual or immediate family member.

Consensual sexual relationships do not have monetary value and therefore are not reportable as gifts or “reportable expenditures made for lobbying” for purposes of the Lobbying Law’s expenditure reporting provisions.

However, a lobbyist or lobbyist principal’s provision of paid prostitution services by a third party to a designated individual could constitute a gift or thing of value, albeit an illegal one, depending on the particular facts.

This would appear to give lobbyists, at least in North Carolina, the go-ahead to offer sex to government officials, as it would not be considered a “gift” and would therefore not be a reportable item.  Even offering a government official a paid prostitute may not be deemed a “gift” in the right circumstances, they say.

Uh huh.

One newspaper, the Beaufort Observer, offered an editorial that made it clear they disagreed with the state’s  ethically-challenged ethics commission.

“You can hire yourself out as a lobbyist and pull down big bucks for the job of getting special favors done for your clients and those clients are more than willing to pay big bucks for your service. And many of those clients don’t really care how you get them those favors from bureaucrats or elected officials as you produce what they want.”

So we can now “legally” ply our elected representatives with sex?

Isn’t that precisely the sort of behaviour a so-called “ethics commission” ought to prevent?

Not in North Carolina.

“Premier Dad” quits suddenly… Good News or the first step to very bad news?

“Premier Dad”, aka Dalton McGuinty, quit his post as Premier of Ontario suddenly and without warning.  While it may be good news for Ontario that the big government Liberal will be gone soon, it may be very bad news for the nation of Canada as a whole.

While “Premier Dad” hasn’t said anything yet, he also hasn’t ruled out a run for the federal Liberal Party leadership in a run-up to becoming, he hopes and I cringe, “Prime Minster Dad” at some point in the future.

The premier’s winning electoral record immediately inspired rumours he would run for the leadership of the federal Liberal Party and challenge Justin Trudeau, but he repeatedly deflected the question saying he had “no plans” to do so.

McGuinty’s policies have failed spectacularly in Ontario.  His massive spending increased Ontario’s debt endlessly, despite having no way to pay for it.  No way, that is, except to claim Ontario as a “have not” province to suck more money out of Alberta.

He presided over massive scandals such as eHealth, ORNG, Ontario Power Authority and failed bailouts to green energy companies.  The last thing we need is another scandal-laden Liberal vying for the Prime Minister’s office.

In writing a list of McGuinty’s failures, blogger “JackAndCokeWithALime” wrote:

Without a doubt, Dalton McGuinty is the most scandal-plagued, tax-spend-and-waste, unethical, integrity-deficient Premier that Ontario has ever had in its entire history.  And even though this should be obvious to all Ontarians, McGuinty’s gift of being able to talk his way out of anything often leaves Ontarians questioning their hurtful experiences and falling for his “Premier Dad” routine of manipulation.  McGuinty could literally get away with murder by convincing Ontarians that “though this was not the easy thing to do, it was the right thing to do“.

That said, there is a new scandal breaking right now for McGuinty, as it appears that he lied to Parliament and his own party about what he knew and when in the cancellation of two gas plants in Mississauga and Oakville, both Liberal-held ridings.  The cancellations left Ontario Taxpayers (or should I say Alberta’s Taxpayers) on the hook for hundreds of millions of dollars.

Failure after failure, scandal after scandal…  Yeah, that sounds about right for a Liberal wanting to become Prime Minister, doesn’t it?

Unless you want to count Justin Trudeau, of course, the substitute drama teacher who has never done anything except flaunt himself in front of television cameras at every opportunity.

Not much of a choice… Canada’s Obama in Justin Trudeau (I’ve never done anything but promise I will some day!) or a man who has proven to be grossly inept at managing an economy and a government…

God save us from our Liberal Saviours!!!

Rep. Allen West has some choice words for useless US Ambassador to the United Nations

Allen West

Lieutenant Colonel Allen West
American Hero and Patriot

Lieutenant Colonel Allen West (Congressman for Florida’s 22 District) is one of my favourite American politicians, and for good reason.

He doesn’t mince words.

He doesn’t care of he offends the chuckleheads.

He calls things precisely as he sees them and doesn’t give a damn if he is “politically correct” when he does it.

He despises the cowardice of the Obama administration and wants to see aid to Libya stopped immediately. I couldn’t agree more.  It makes no sense to give millions of dollars to the very people who are murdering American citizens.

That is, to quote Lt. Col. Allen West, “asinine“.

In this interview from Fox News he makes it abundantly clear what he thinks about Susan Rice, the US Ambassador to the United Nations.

When I listened to the US Ambassador Susan Rice today several words came to mind:

asinine, naive, inept, incompetent and borderline ignorant

America Needs Change… in the White House.

Please support this principled man of integrity as he tries to bring common sense and decency back the American government.

If you have not seen what calls Lt. Col. Allen West’s “must watch speech” then I would urge you to watch  it today.

Ottawa County Patriots’ Brand New Billboards (these guys are great!)

Jim Chiodo, President of the Ottawa County Patriots contacted me after he discovered my Sept. 23rd article on the fantastic work his organization is doing.  They’ve launched a billboard campaign to show the American public the difference between a proven failure (Obama) and a proven winner (Romney).

Thanks so much for posting a picture and “stuff” about our semi truck billboard. We have three more in the works (attached). Thanks for making us famous on your blog!

Jim Chiodo, President
Ottawa County Patriots

As I wrote to Jim, I haven’t done anything but bring some must-deserved attention to the great work he’s doing. He’s the one that deserves all the credit, not me. He’s the one creating and distributing all these great billboards. All I’m doing is writing about them!

You can see their first billboard in my earlier article, “Ottawa County Patriots create awesome US Presidential Election billboards.”

Here are the images of the latest billboards they have created.

Not only did Obama NOT fix the economy in three years, he did the exact opposite.  He sent the US economy so far into the sewer it may never fully recover.

Since he failed to do what he promised, hold him to his own words.  Send him packing this November 6th.

Obama hates the capitalist system that makes it possible for him to send American Taxpayer Dollars to fund terrorists and murderers in Libya.  You’d think he’d express a little gratitude to the people who actually pay for all his mistakes.

Yeah, like that will ever happen!

Clearly President Calvin Coolidge never got the memo from socialists like the Coward In Chief currently occupying the White House.

He believes, bizarrely, that government is the only reason businesses can operate.

America, please do the right thing this November 6th and send Obama packing!

Ottawa County Patriots create awesome US Presidential Election billboards

The ability of some folks to simply do what needs to be done never ceases to amaze me.  Take the folks at Ottawa County Patriots (, a group of very smart and committed American Patriots who clearly love their country.

Ottawa County is located on the south-west side of Michigan and includes Holland, Zeeland, Grand Haven, and a bit of Wyoming.

These fine folks have created a billboard that takes all the spin and rhetoric out of the election antics of The Messiah, otherwise known as the empty suit named Barack Hussein Obama.  While he was given the Nobel Peace Prize for bringing “hope to the world”, this pathetic excuse for a President hasn’t actually done anything… other than tank the American economy and give trillions of dollars to his friends and America’s enemies.

That’s just one man’s opinion, of course, and I stand behind every word especially in light of the fact that the US Congress just voted to send billions more American Taxpayer Dollars to the very nations who are killing American citizens right now.  It’s repulsive.

Anyway, back to the point at hand: the awesome billboard created by the Ottawa County Patriots. Telling the truth in such clear and simple terms must really make The Anointed One angry.

While that’s a great side-benefit, I truly hope this billboard helps explain the simple truth about Obama’s failed economic policies to Americans as we near the November presidential election.

What’s even better is they are willing to make you the same banner with your own website’s URL on it for just $400.  For more details on getting this banner with your own website’s address on it, please visit

Ottawa County Patriots Election Billboard

Here’s what they are all about, taken from their website,

We are a non-profit educational organization providing information about our form of government, the free enterprise economic system and related civic or political issues for children and adults residing in Ottawa County or surrounding areas.
We are a diverse grass-roots group of individuals dedicated to learning about and preserving the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights and our vibrant free enterprise economic system.

We gather together to learn more about our nation’s history and Constitutional foundations and seek to become involved in civic affairs at the local, state and national levels in order to preserve our basic rights and freedoms as American citizens. Membership is open to any concerned citizen.

Mission Statement:
To promote awareness and understanding of American government, the free enterprise  system and related political or civic issues through education, special events and encouragement of citizen involvement.

Forget the angry mob,  aversion to all government, claims of racism, gun nuts,  negativity and other falsehoods the media and left use to distort perception.  Most important falsehood is we don’t know what we want.  The real focus of the Tea Party can be summarized with three goals or principles.   These are not fringe ideas but are consistent with sentiments held by the majority of voters.   This is what Michiganders and Americans want yet don’t realize is identical to the goals of the Tea Party.

Fiscal Responsibility and smaller government
Constitutionality (as written)
Free Markets

We share a common passion with Tea Party groups everywhere.  We began our group 2009, meeting at the Holland Library and even a bar restaurant before settling in at our regular venue at the Zeeland library.  There are other local and national tea party groups with a presence on the internet, providing information and education.   You may wish to register at any of these although we have no official affiliation with any other group other than a common passion for our country.

While event information is posted on this site, the primary communication to members is via regular email. If you would like to be added to the e-mail list and get updates on special meetings and events planned by the Ottawa County Patriots, please click on the “contact” page.  We also post meetings on other social media sites.

Non profit status:
We are in the process to establish a organizational structure and the process has begun to pursue a 501C-3 status.   This will allow donations to our group as tax deductible.
Of note, our Tea Party and most nationwide, are non partisan by legal definition.   We cannot endorse any candidate or party. Nor are we a political party. The great majority of tea party members strongly oppose the idea of a third party.  Our goal is working to insure the best, conservative candidates in both parties. “Working” means educating ourselves, understanding issues, positions and records of the candidates.

While conservatism places us closer to Republicans than Democrats, many of us are also critical of Republicans. We are about liberty, smaller government and return to constitutionality, not about a political party. There are those who say we are an arm of the Republican Party. THEY ARE WRONG.

As mentioned, we cannot endorse candidates. However, we do recommend ICAUCUS which is a separate effort to get involved. For more information visit:

Ontario’s so-called “conservative” Tim Hudak claims to believe in Freedom of Speech

Freedom of Speech is such an invaluable right, but like what happens with any one of our precious Rights and Freedoms when it is taken for granted, those of us living in the western world don’t appreciate its value.

We fail to understand what it is like to live in Iran or Egypt or China, where simply speaking your mind about the government can land you in prison for the rest of your life. Say something the party doesn’t approve of and you can pretty much kiss your life, your loved ones and your liberty goodbye. Forever.

Here in Canada we take for granted our ability to say what we think about our politicians before, during and after elections.  In fact we take it so for granted that we allow politicians to take that right away from us without so much as a single bleating cry of dissent.

Election spending limits are placed on what politicians like to call “third-party groups”, as though you and I have no real stake in the outcome of an election.  Federally and provincially, politicians do anything and everything they can to shut the rest of us up so they can have the “stage” all to themselves.

It’s atrocious.

Which is more shameful though, I wonder; our collective silence in the wake of our Right to Freedom of Speech being stripped from us piece by piece, or those self-serving politicians who, like Ontario Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak, claim to support our Right to Freedom of Speech while simultaneously attempting to strip us of that very same right.

Rep. Allen West: Oh how I long for more leaders like this!

Allen WestAllen West is the kind of leader America needs.  He’s the kind of leader every nation ought to have.  A man who comprehends what Rights and Freedoms mean and where they come from.

For those who believe America must have a black president, Allen West fits the bill.  He’s a REAL black man, not a half-black wannabe like the current occupant of the White House.

For those who believe in traditional conservative values, Allen West is the real deal.

For those who believe a leader should have experience in actually leading his fellow man, Allen West delivers.  He retired from the United States Army after 20 years of active duty service, including multiple deployments to Iraq, with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

What I love about this guy is that he says exactly what is on his mind.  He does not sit on a fence.

And if you’re a blathering “chucklehead” as he likes to call them, then you’ll have a hard time being taken seriously by him.

A chucklehead is a person who is so inept and incompetent that all you can do is look at them and laugh,” West said.

In calling West’s latest speech a “Must Watch” wrote:

This is the most incredible speech, ever. Allen West comes out swinging hard against the left and doesn’t stop until his speech is over. He hits the left over their collectivist ideology. He hits them over their collectivist policies. And he encourages Republicans to “find the enemy and fight them wherever they are” just like American paratroopers from the 101st and 82nd airborne did the night before D-day.  He said Republicans must be like sharks that smell blood in the water because, as he puts it so well, we don’t win playing defense. We win on offense.

I’m telling you, this man is a serious force to be reckoned with and he’s just getting started.

If you want to see how a REAL black man deals with the world, then you’ve gotta check out the real deal: Allen West.

Enjoy the next 20 minutes with Allen West.  You will NOT be disappointed.  I guarantee it.

MP Bruce Hyer is Thunder Bay-Superior North’s Representative to Ottawa, NOT Thomas Mulcair’s representative to Thunder Bay-Superior North

NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair has made himself quite clear since he was elected leader of the NDP.  He will bring back the failed and useless long gun registry and he will force his caucus to vote his will “or else.”

That makes one thing absolutely clear.  NDP MPs are Thomas Mulcair’s representatives to those ridings.  They are NOT representing their constituents views to Ottawa.  Mulcair doesn’t care about their views.  He will tell them what to think and when to think it.

Thankfully Thomas Mulcair’s dictatorial ways have sparked what I hope will become a stampede out of the NDP caucus.

Leading that hoped-for exodus is former NDP MP Bruce Hyer, who represents the riding of  Thunder Bay-Superior North.  Hyer got himself into hot water with Interim NDP Leader Nicole Turnell when he had the audacity to vote the will of his constituents instead of the Turnell’s dictatorial edict.

Members of Parliament are supposed to be the people’s representative to Ottawa, not Ottawa’s representative to the people.  This is a fundamental fact that Bruce Hyer clearly comprehends and one that the newly crowned Thomas Mulcair most assuredly does not.

I commend Bruce Hyer for his determination to stand up for what the people who elected him stand for.  It’s admirable in this day and age where political parties aren’t interested in what we mere citizens have to say, but prefer to tell us what we should think.  Sitting as an independent guarantees, in my mind, that Hyer will have his job for as long as he chooses since it shows the entire country what he believes is important: his constituents.

Oh that every MP in the country had this much integrity!

Hyer may be the first defection but he will not be the last.  I was quite shocked to see John Rafferty publicly condemn Mr. Hyer for taking this step since he was the other NDP MP that had the courage to vote the will of his constituents.  Rafferty will learn shortly just how little influence he has under  Mulcair’s leadership and in the end I believe he will make the same decision as Hyer.

Mulcair is just another petty dictator wannabe… and he won’t last.  They never do.  But so long as he demands his caucus be his representative to the people he will face an ever diminishing caucus, and rightly so.

So again, Congratulations to the citizens of the riding of Thunder Bay-Superior North!  You’ve got a representative you can truly be proud of!

For those interested, below is the letter from Bruce Hyer publicly making his decision to sit as an independent MP, rather than fold like a cheap suit because some Quebec politician demands him to.

Senator Nancy Greene-Raine espouses common sense about “climate change” and carbon taxes

Senator Nancy Greene-Raine is a senator from British Columbia.   Given the Loony Left Coast’s penchant for all things politically correct, I expected a BC Senator to espouse the standard PC line on carbon tax credits and global warming.  I was, therefore, extremely pleased to read her speech in the Hansard where she clearly explains why amending the tax code to give tax credits for people buying “carbon credits” is such a bad idea.

If you agree with the good Senator, please write her at and thank her for standing up for common sense.  It’s such a rare thing in Canadian politics… or politics anywhere for that matter.

Hon. Nancy Greene Raine: Honourable senators, I rise to address Bill S-205, an Act to amend the Income Tax Act. If passed, this amendment would give tax credits to Canadians who invest in so-called carbon offsets. While I have no objection to citizens spending their own money in any way they choose, I do not support the government’s giving tax credits for carbon offsets. I say this for several reasons. First and foremost, I consider it an unnecessary and undesirable expense at a time when we should be looking for ways to reduce the tax burden on Canadians. While it is true that the amendment would benefit those who invest in carbon offsets, it would be an expense that would have to be covered by all other taxpayers. I say it is unnecessary because, contrary to the assertions of the honourable senator sponsoring the bill, it addresses an issue that is more and more being questioned by new scientific evidence. We simply do not know that our actions have a significant impact on the global climate, let alone that “the consequences of not acting can be catastrophic,” to quote Senator Mitchell. (more…)

Alison Redford paid to be on committee that never met?

Nobody can waste money better than governments, but to pay people to do absolutely nothing?  That’s obscene even for Canadian political standards, low as they are.

The latest scandal comes from Alberta, the so-called hotbed of freedom in Canada.  The current and unelected premier of Alberta, Alison Redford, was one of many politicians who received pay for their “work” on a committee that never, ever met.

The standing committee on privileges and elections, which hasn’t met since 2008, continues to pay 21 politicians $1,000 per month or $261,000 annually to do, well, nothing.

Despite the fact she was actually a member of the useless committee for a time, Redford had the cohones to tell reporters that she “did not know” about it.  She at least had the honesty to admit what everyone else is thinking, that paying people to sit on a committee that never meets is “a ridiculous situation.”

It is far beyond ridiculous; it is obscene and unacceptable.

While Redford has appointed a former judge, John Major, to head a panel to look into how MLAs are paid, she seems quite unwilling to simply put a stop to these payments and this useless committee.

Scott Hennig, Alberta director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, made that point quite clearly, as did Liberal MLA Hugh MacDonald.

“She can revise those committees at any time,” said MacDonald. “There’s nothing holding her back.”

If that doesn’t offend you regardless of whether you’re an Albertan or not, it should.

Unless you have a Government Permission Slip to break the law (a licence) you’re going to jail

What is a licence?  It is nothing more than a Government Permission Slip (GPS) to break the law.  Just because you may choose not to believe me doesn’t make it any less true.

It is a crime to do a myriad of things in Canada today; things that should not be a crime, yet are. Politicians mistakenly believe they must always be doing something when the very best thing they could do for our nation is to do absolutely nothing.

I would happily help fund their outrageous paychecks and even more outrageous pensions if they would only leave Ottawa, comb through every Act and Regulation that’s been passed and find all the items that can be repealed.  One month a year they could converge on Ottawa solely for the purpose of repealing everything that is needless and wasteful.

I know, it’s a fantasy that will never happen.  I get that.

A politician’s primary job, once elected, is to get re-elected.  Period.  I get that too.

Doing what’s right for their constituents happens only to the degree to which it will get them re-elected.

So instead of politicians ridding Canada of all the unconstitutional laws, regulations and statutes on the books, we get something far more useless.  We get endless reams of legislation that panders to one voting block or another and is generally destructive to the Rights and Freedoms we’re all supposed to enjoy.

We get more legislation making more things illegal…. requiring more government bureaucrats to manage more government programs, issue more licences to individuals who the government deems worthy of breaking all of these laws.

You see, every time the government makes something illegal, they have to create a regulatory body filled with bureaucrats to issue permission slips to some part of the population.

Most people don’t comprehend what a Government Permission Slip, or licence as we commonly know it, really is. A licence is, as I said at the beginning of this article, nothing more than permission from the government to commit a crime.

Yes, it really is that simple.

TSA threatens to “shut down Texas” if they dare outlaw TSA sexual assaults

In a move that shocks even the most jaded of us, the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) has threatened to shut down the entire air transportation system in Texas if the Texas State Legislature passes a law making it a crime to fondle the sexual bits of  air travelers.

The other day I applauded Texas for daring to take a stand against the TSA’s roving band of pedophiles and sex perverts.  It was courageous, it was brave, and it made me proud of my fellow human being, if only for a few minutes!

Then news broke about how some TSA lawyer had sent a threatening letter to the Texas State Legislature that warned of “dire consequences” if they passed the anti-TSA law.

What disgusts me is that after the seemingly brave Texas Legislature passed the bill, it seems all it took to get them to call a halt to the process was a single letter from some government shill.

Tim Hudak bails on pledge to kill Human Rights Tribunals

Tim Hudak, the winner of the Ontario Progressive Conservative leadership race, is now backtracking on his pledge to get rid of Ontario’s Human Rights Tribunals (HRT).

It’s a decision that’s pissed off a lot of conservative people, especially those who helped get him elected as leader based on his position on the HRTs.

Hudak made some very strong comments about how he would get rid of Ontario’s Human Rights Tribunals in a post on his website:

Turncoat Tim Hudak flip-flops on his promise to scrap Ontario

Don’t bother trying to read his post though… in the wake of becoming party leader Hudak has sanitized his website of anything that might be used to hold him accountable.

Chicago’s Mayor Daley, a pig just a little more equal than the rest of us

Chicago’s Mayor Daley is just a little more equal than anyone else. That’s certainly the claim he’s making right now with his demand for bodyguards after he retires from office.

That’s right.  Mayor Daley is requesting three around the clock Chicago Police bodyguards to protect him once he retires in a few weeks.

Just like the pigs in Orwell’s Animal Farm, the top Chicago piggy sees nothing wrong with demanding bodyguards after doing everything in his power to ensure regular Chicago citizens are rendered defenseless.

But that’s not all.  The Entitled One also has demanded a pair of vehicles, one for himself and one for his wife.   Unsurprisingly, Daley has no comment on that.

The only person who seems unable to comprehend Mayor Daley’s hypocrisy is… well… Mayor Daley.

If Layton’s and Ignatieff’s Current Spending Habits are anything to go by…

If Layton’s current spending habits are anything to go by… then an NDP-led coalition government with the Liberals will lead us down the road of financial ruin.

That’s a pretty strong statement, but I stand by it for this reason:  Government records of MP spending shows that Jack Layton tops spending by all MPs in the House of Commons. The thing is, he’s not spending his money, he’s spending yours.

Government records show that Jack Layton spent $628,913.68 for the fiscal year 2009-2010.  Layton, of course, was quick to defend his face down in the public trough by saying that other party leaders had other budgets to draw from that he did not.

That’s a great excuse, but it hardly explains why his wife, Olivia Chow, had her face down in the public trough to the tune of $530,304.73 for the same reporting period.

Funnily enough, Layton was completely silent on the issue of his wife’s piggish spending of public funds.

Jack Layton’s Dirty Laundry aired by Sun TV

Back when Jack Layton was a Toronto city councilor, content to spend GTA cash like it was going out of style, he apparently had an “outside hobby”… or as Jack liked to call it, getting massages.

Jack likes Asian women… that’s no secret.  He’s married to Olivia Chow, after all.  Unfortunately for both Olivia and for Jack, it appears he likes to step out with young Asian prostitutes, or at least it looks like he used to.

SUN Media has copies of a retired police officer’s notes that show Jack was found naked in a room at a known prostitution house with a known 22-year-old Asian prostitute.

While Layton and Chow claim this was a reputable business, the facts say otherwise.  It wasn’t your average licensed massage therapist’s office… it was a dingy room up a back stairwell with a thug at the front desk and a red/green light system for signaling when police were on site.

Chow wrote in a statement:  (more…)

Some thoughts on the integrity of our local Candidates

In my local riding I’ve talked alot about how the local Conservative candidate, Mark Strahl (who I’ve dubbed The Anointed One) has been Missing In Action for most of the campaign.  I’m sure he’s been somewhere, it’s just that he hasn’t ever been where he ought to be for All Candidates Meetings at the various towns throughout the Chilliwack–Fraser Canyon riding.

I’ve also written at length about my disgust for the actions of Mark Strahl and his father, former MP Chuck Strahl, in gaming the system so that nobody but his son Mark could gain the Conservative Party nomination in this riding.

If nothing else, the way Strahl senior and junior played the system in Mark’s favour shows a shocking lack of integrity from both a man and a party that claims to run on that platform.

With the NDP surging in all the polls, if the endless news reports hailing the second coming of Jack Layton are to be believed, I called my local NDP riding to see if they had any polling information for this riding.
